Broken ribbon cable next to volume control on logic board?

Hi all,

I broke the ribbon cable attached to the logic board (the one that is screwed in by the volume control (I have a picture but can't attach for some reason).

1. What is this cable?

2. Can it be easily replaced? Does it require soldering?
