The iPod says I need to "resync" with my computer

I just replaced the Battery and Logic Board, closed it back up, and when I connected it to a speaker dock, I got a message that stated I needed to re-sync it with iTunes. Is that common ?

Another problem is that the computer that I used to set up iTunes has permanently crashed. Any ideas ? For example, do I need to take it to a Genuis Bar and have them wipe the hard drive clean ?

Options

I would suggest, once you have fixed you computer, resyncing, if you have lost all your files on the computer you can transfer them back from the iPod with a freeware application called iPodDisk (google it).

If you need assistance with the computer, ask another question referring to it.
