Motherboard (ESC) has an short circuit between + and -

Hello:

My ESC mainboard (Phantom 3 Standard) has an short circuit. I can’t see any damaged component (looking with electronic microscope), but tester indicates 00 (total cotinuity) between + and - of battery power.

Oviously if battery inserted and try to power on, battery detects the short circuit, blinks some seconds and power off.

I unsolded component between VCC and GND, but short circuit continues and component seems good.

I can’t find scheme and I don’t know where to look.

Please, any help?.

Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

To identify the short, you need to test each component individually. Most motherboards have obvious traces that you can follow to each component. If you can get a part number off of a component, you may be able to look up it’s resistance and voltage requirements.

Thanks Justin.

Here is my ESC:

Between VCC and GND is short circuit.

SMD component up of GND has left pin to GND and right pin to VCC (it seems to be an diode). Oviously tester indicates full continuity (00). I have desolded it and component is not in short circuit, and continues the problem between GND and VCC…

This is the only component that I can see between VCC and GND, but the component is not guilty.

GND track continues to 3 pins (down to up) of SMD component in the left with 4 pins (by side), and VCC continues from right of (diode?) to right of (capacitor?).

Here is my ESC with track painted:

I have desolded full IMU board and full WIFI/RF module, and short circuit continues.

Thanks!!.

There are six IC close to each the motor, these are the driver for the motor one of them is in short. I have the same problem, I remove several of these IC. But my motherboard have 6 IC in short.
