How can I repair the webcam?

My webcam on my Acer Chromebook 14 has never worked, but I never fixed it and the warranty is expired. Now I need it for work and I thought I could repair it myself. Is it easy/inexpensive to fix? Or should I just get a new laptop or external webcam?

ellen.huffman5  you could try to reinstall the driver for the webacm and see if your OS even finds it. The repair, if necessary ,will not be easy since you will have to take your laptop apart. Not impossible to do but a pain and there is always a chance of further damaging things. I suggest that you just get an external webcam and use it. That way you can continue to use your computer and save yourself some money.
