Why can people not hear me on the phone. But I can hear them

Try making or receiving a call using the earphones with the microphone attachment, to check if you can be heard OK.

Alternatively use the phone in “loudspeaker” (or hands free) mode and check if you can be heard OK on a call.

If you still cannot be heard using either method, then there is a voice transmission problem with the phone.

If you can be heard OK when using either of the above methods then you either have a faulty or loose internal microphone or perhaps the voice inlet hole, found on the bottom edge of the phone, has become blocked with lint etc.

To check this possibility, use a strong light and a magnifying glass to check if it appears to be blocked at all.

It if is or even if you can’t tell, DO NOT use a pin or probe to try and clear the blockage as you may damage the microphone which is directly behind the hole.

Try using a vacuum cleaner to suck out the debris.

If the phone still doesn’t work properly after trying this, it will need to be opened and the problem further investigated as to the cause.
