lens error for canon powershot sx60 hs

Hi! I couldn’t find the option for the Powershot SX60 HS, but when I try to turn it on, it gives me the message ‘Lens Error, Will Shut Down Automatically, Restart Camera.’ I restarted it but it gives me the same messsage. Help? I’ve tried inserting the battery in and out, to no avail.

Unfortunately the lens contains several motors and sensors and any electrical or mechanical fault with any of them will generally just give this “lens error”. Your best bet is probably to look out for another on eBay adverstised as “spares or repair” and with some other fault. It generally isn’t that hard to make one good camera out of two duds!

In my case was a fatal error. The shutter was damage forever. Two cameras SX60 and two disappointment. Worst Canon camera ever made.
