What are the THREE cables coming out of mid2012 display to wifi board?

They have round gold connectors. I purchased a replacement display and it only came with TWO of these cables and connectors. What’s the deal? What do each do?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Three are WiFi and the Fourth is for Bluetooth MacBook Pro Unibody (Early 2011-Mid 2012) AirPort/Bluetooth Board

Two WiFi and the Third is Bluetooth MacBook Pro 15" and 17" Unibody (Mid 2010) Airport/Bluetooth Board

It sounds like you got the older model display assembly which only had one WiFi and one Bluetooth antennas.

The older lids have a lower resolution iSight camera so you might want to see if you can swap it out with the correct one. Or, you can switch over the antenna assembly to the better one.

Thank you for the explanation! Would you happen to know when this change happened? Was it mid 2012? This was listed as a 2012 display, but it has the 2 wires instead of 3. Mine is a mid 2012 and it came with the 3 wires. I pretty much bought it because my isight cable connector is broken. I peeled back the wire wrap, it appears I could solder each wire individually. It would be messy but a fix if I can't return this display. I've heard replacing the isight requires a heat gun and new special adhesive.

I updated the info in my answer here's the iSight camera differences:

2011 - FaceTime HD camera

2012 - 720p FaceTime HD camera

If you what the better FaceTime camera you should just return it and get the correct one. Yes, it's a bit of work and you will mark up the masking on the glass.
