Why wont it start?
starts very slow before screen turns on then it wont go past the apple logo with the spinner

Try starting from your system installation disk. Insert the disk and restart holding down the "C" key. Go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities > Disk Utility and see if you can select the hard drive on the left and try repairing it. Let us know your results and we can go from there.

the "C" didn't work but i put the install disk in and ran threw the f1 f2..ect keys and it booted right up and just had to reinstall software

You have to put the install disk in before you use the "C" key to start up from it.
