Extra step needed when replacing an LCD? Charging but no power on.

Does anyone know is an extra step is needed when replacing an LCD on a Samsung Tab S 10.5”? For example some sort of memory wipe to or reboot to sync the new LCD to old motherboard? I replaced the LCD on mine but it will not power on, I also replaced the battery. However when plugged in the screen shows its charging.

@sumrican “For example some sort of memory wipe to or reboot to sync the new LCD to old motherboard” no, there is not. This “However when plugged in the screen shows its charging. “ makes it sound like it is a power issue. Double check your battery and double check your work and pay particular attention to the battery and the charging port.

This is the flowchart for the No Power troubleshooting.

Thank you for taking the time to respond old turkey. The flow charts are all a foreign language to me but I will double check the battery connections. Thanks again.

@sumrican the schematics go with the flow chat. It would show you which components to measure in case your phone does not power up. I would allow you to do some fault finding. Hopefully it's just the battery/charging port.

Could it be the left speacker with the power bitton attached to it? When I hold the power button dow it gets exceedingly hot along with the speaker?

by

Absolutely could it be a bad flex cable. Replace it and re-evaluate.
