Digitizer acting like I'm touching it when I'm not. (False Reads)

I just replaced the glass / Digitizer on this iPad and the digitizer is acting like I'm touching it when I'm not. (False Reads) I pull up the keyboard and it goes "click, click" and dissappears. And in Angry Birds it is randomly pausing and zooming in and out and all kinds of other stuff.

5-27-2011: I just did this same repair on another 1st Gen iPad 3G. Same thing is happening. But this time I popped the digitizer back out of the case and it works fine. So it seems like when I snap it into place it is acting up. Am I squishing something? I just don't get it.

It sounds like a defective digitizer. You should contact whoever you bought it from, and get your money back or a replacement.

I have just done another repair with a new digitizer on a 3G iPad and the same thing is happening. If I go to the search screen, you can see and hear the keyboard being clicked/activated.

It sounds like it could be touching the LCD screen but it could also be a defective digitizer. I don't know where you got it from but they are definitely not all created equal. I would say with digitizers you pretty much get what you paid for. I know a guy that bought 2 at around 40.00 a piece and the both had dead spots in them..the company won't take them back now of course..
