The freezer and fridge are not cooling.

Lady Tech,

I looked at some of your earlier comments. I have the lfxs30766s model and the freezer and fridge are not cooling. I have already cleaned the coils. My fridge has a solid state (i believe) with a overload capacitor. Capacitor seems OK. I removed CON201, verified the voltage the got up to 200VAC, pressed the test button, heard several beeps, but no LED. I then plugged back in the CON201 and restarted the unit and did not see any LEDs. I hear the compressor kicking on and the fan starts. I left the fridge powered overnight and this morning it was still warm in the fridge and freezer. What can I check next?

Kevin C, since you have proper voltage to compressor and it running it should be pumping the refrigerant. If I was there I’d see if the compressor was hot. I’d look for signs of oil on the compress and the lines to it. I’d look all around the condenser and evaporator coils for oil. If no oil then I’d checked the system for a restriction and see what the pressures are. It’s possible that the compressor has over tripped/failed or there is a restriction in the system. . You have to be EPA certified to enter a sealed system. One thing to do is unplug it. Remove the panel to pcb. Leave all connection in place plug back in. Press the test button once, you’ll hear beep, press again hear 2 beeps and see if led light flashes

Kevin C -if it flashes, how many times? If it doesn’t have any led’s light up then leave it unplugged for a day. Plug back in and if the fans and compressor are running and still isn’t cold then the issue is in the sealed system and will need a qualified technician to do the repairs.

I had the fridge unplugged for a couple of days and then I just plugged it back in and did your recommended 2 button press. No LED came on. After the 2nd press, it didn3 sets of double beeps and then the beeping stopped.

Since it’s late, I am going to leave it plugged in overnight and check it in the morning to see if it’s cooling.

Update: I just stayed by the fridge for 10 minutes after plugging it in and it sounds like the compresser cut off. I opened and closed the doors to see if it would kick back on, but it didn’t. The fan is running

Wednesday update: I checked the fridge this morning and it wasn't cold in the fridge or the freezer.
