Uninstalled SoundAbout, now headphone jack isn't working right

(This is for E4 but only E4 plus was listed)

I was trying to get my headset mic to work so I installed SoundAbout. It didn't work so I used the phone's mic. I uninstalled the app today and when I played some music with my headphones plugged in, the music came out of my speaker.

I've reinstalled it and set the audio output to “Wired Headphones” and it works fine. But with “Let app decide” audio ONLY goes to the speaker. I've played with the settings and nothing works. I don't want to have to go to the SoundAbout app every time I want to switch audio output destination. Please help if you can, this is stressing me out.

I'm hoping it's not an irreparable hardware issue… I LITERALLY cannot afford a new phone right now. Any info on how to fix this would be amazing!

Hi!

there is two options to this problem

  • reset it so it will change the setting to default
  • or reinstall the app and change the permissions

Hope it works!

My problem is for an Android phone, not a Windows computer... Please, does someone know how to fix my phone problem?

Hi! Ive found a solution credits to witrigs

Press the Power key, then tap and hold on Power off and tap OK when Reboot to safe mode appears. The Moto E4 will reboot and you should see Safe Mode in the bottom-left corner. If your headphones work properly, then a third-party app is probably to blame for your problem. You can simply restart the phone to get out of safe mode. Try uninstalling apps one by one, starting with anything that has an obvious audio component. Restart your phone after each uninstall and test to see if the problem is resolved.
