Touch ID not working and home button burning hot

I replaced my iphone 7 screen with a new one (aftermarket), but the home button was not working with the new screen. Then i swapped the original screen back to test the home button and it worked, but wow it gets burning hot. Touch ID is not working anymore and the motherboard tends to heat too much too.

What is the solution to this home button heating and Touch ID problem?

Hi, I got a new replacement screen (same shop). But wow with this one the home button magically works. Also the Touch ID works. The home button is still warmer than should be but significantly cooler than before. This is odd because this replacement screen is definitely not original and the Touch ID didn’t work with the original screen. Weird stuff but the iphone works like normal now.

You may have damaged the Home Button while transferring it to the replacement screen. The Home Button flex is easy to damage and it doesn’t take much to cause issues.

You will need to carefully inspect the Home Button and flex to see if there is any damage. Magnification here will help. Look for tears to the flex or any physical signs of damage. You should also check the connector to insure none of the pins are damage or that there isn’t any debris.

Unfortunately, there is no real DIY way to fix a Home Button, only Apple can replace it.

Hello, as everyone says iPhone 7 / 7+ home button transfer is very common to damage the flex. Apple asked me for 7 plus 220€ to change home button with screen. I make some research and finally found this solution https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwznLFI1...

I gave it a try because I had nothing to lose and worked. It’s very difficult and complicated, but you should give a try.
