My ds won’t turn on!

Can I have some help please? My 3DS XL won’t turn on properly. When I press the power button, the power light turns blue but then turns back off, no matter what I do the light flashes blue and I can’t turn on the DS. After awhile of waiting it turns back on just fine but I’m worried on why it’s doing what it’s doing.
