Power button works but not touch id after tear down

Hi All,

I'm here because I need your help. I had the bad idea today to change the thermal paste of my 2016 Macbook pro. Since then everything is working fine and great except TouchID.

Since I have teared down the Mac, TouchID does not work anymore. I mean when I trying to login using TouchID it is like it does not detect my finger on the sensor.

If I try to setup a new finger print it does not detect my finger but when I press the power button this is detected.

I have tried to check the connector but everything looks like, I have try the Apple Hardware Check (press D when starting) and everything is fine.

Do you have any idea if I have broken my sensor somehow ? Or if I'm missing something here ?

Thanks !

Answer this question I have this problem too

Apple has ‘keyed’ the TouchID sensor to the MLB, is it possible you have mismatched the parts? Otherwise there could be damage to the flex cable or the TouchID button is not properly spaced.
