Can I use a Firewire or Ethernet to make an iPhone connection

My Macbook Pro 13" Early 2011 has faulty USB ports.

I've tried it all. Cleaning it etc. etc..

I owned a Kanex Thunderbolt to USB adapter (only one of it's kind) but it recently went faulty, it costs $80 and I'm not ready to spend that on a backup computer.

My Question:

Would purchasing a Ethernet to Female USB cable/adapter and then plugging in my iPhone make a connection?

OR

Would purchasing a FireWire to female USb or Firewire to Lightning cable make a connection with my iPhone and Macbook.

PS: My Thunderbolt to USB Port adapter by Kanex made a normal connection with my iPhone and any other USB device I would plug into it including printers, drives etc.

Just like languages (Spanish or French) are different from English.

USB is very different than Ethernet or FireWire in the way it works and won’t work here.

OK what to do? You might try setting up Bluetooth between your iPhone and MacBook Pro while this will work it is not as fast.

I would look at fixing your USB ports. It might be a simple problem or it could need a new logic board.
