I am trying to connect speakers to my Xbox

I am trying to connect my speakers to my xbox one s directly because my tv doesn't have an audio port. But my xbox does and it won't recognize the speakers unless i plug them into the controller.

Hi

As the Xbox one s does not have a 3.5mm audio output, you will need a HDMI to HDMI + audio adapter like the one linked below. This will use the HDMI port of your Xbox and give you a audio out as well as HDMI.

Good luck

Have the same issue with my Xbox 1x. My monitor has a headphone jack and audio in. Tried both and neither work and it only works through my controller.

The monitor will only work if you have a power source, HDMI cord, output to complete the circuit, and somewhere for the sound to go. If you have any problems after that, then press the home button, go to the Profile tab, press settings, and click on sound preferences. Hope this helps!

I’m trying to connect my Xbox 1 S to our 4 built-in surround sound speakers without an optical output cord. Is there any way to do this?
