No, that guide won’t help you here. We don’t have any guides for this system yet, but the teardowns do offer enough clues to get it out. Lets start at the end and work up! Here we can see clearly the two screws that hold the jack to the frame and the ribbon cable which connects to the logic board

Now looking at the logic board its self we can see the two connectors (the yellow marked one is the jack) which are covered by a plate

So… After pulling the bottom plate off all you need to do here is take this cover plate off to expose the two connectors and remove the two screws holding the headphone assembly you should then be able to carefully wiggle out the jack and disconnect the ribbon cable as well.

Now the hard part! Finding a replacement

Hi Dan,

please, can you tell me the size of the screws holding the headphone assembly to use suitable tool for it?

and another question, there is a bead stuck inside headphone assembly and I'm trying to take it out. the question is: Is there any hole from the inside of headphone assembly allow me to push the bead out from the main hole, as it was in older versions of macs.?

Regards.

@alkalsh93 - I would just replace it as there is no means to poke anything out from the other side.

As for the needed tools I would get a good took kit with Pentalobe & Torx bits as you'll need both! Pro Tech Toolkit
