MacBook Air 2015 Screwdrivers

Welcome,

I recently wanted to clean up my Air. I bought a Power 8800c screwdriver - star 1.2x50mm star. Unfortunately, I unscrewed a little and this screwdriver didn't fit.

I don't want to buy the same thing twice, so my question is - what more does a screwdriver need? Are P5 Pentalobe or T5 Torx or Phillips #00 the ones I have? Or maybe I still need the TR8 Torx to dismantle everything?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Greetings

Hi @giorge ,

You will mostly need the P5 Pentalobe and the T5 Torx.

The display hinges will need the T8 Torx.

The trackpad will need a Phillips #00.

Hey, great thanks.

In this case I already have P5 Pentalobe (1.2 mm) and don't need P5 with other dimensions (e.g. 0.8 mm)?

That is correct. By the way, P5 should only come in 1.2 mm. 0.8 mm pentalobe would be a P2, and 1.5 mm would be a P6.
