Is the top case for the 2008 MacBook Pro (A1260) compatible w/ A1226?

The top case for my 2007 MBP 15" (A1226) needs to be replaced as it's quite worn down and I have recently come into possession of a top case for a 2008 15" MBP (A1260), and I was wondering if I would be able to install the A1260 top case on my A1226.

Thanks, I found that myself and already did the swap.

Btw, any idea what version of Mac OS would be the best (read: fastest) with a c2d, 4gb of RAM, and an HDD? It's only a temporary setup at the moment, but I'm wondering if it's Mavericks, El Capitan (I vividly remember Yosemite running terribly on it and Mavericks running well), or something earlier.

Which machine do you out of these three:

Do you plan to max the RAM out? How much storage space are you currently using?

It's the 2.2ghz late 2007 mbp w/ 4gb ram. The HDD is 320gb that I swapped in a few years back and is more or less empty.

I don't plan to change anything.
