My 55" lg non-smart 3d tv is doing this randomly too. Itll be fine for days or weeks then all of a sudden while watching a video (dvi-hdmi came from pc through hdmi switch) the tv will shut off then instantly start back up again. It's not a new tv, probably 5-ish years old... could be more.

My 65” OLEDB7V started doing this ‘Power Cycling’ thing yesterday. 1st it just turned off then back on - I thought Ohh, what happened, then it was ok for c2/4 hours. Then it started cycling at shorter intervals 30mins/20mins/10 mins etc. Now it turns on, then off almost immediately, and does this constantly. Luckily it’s still under warranty - I took out a 5yr one, thank goodness - and an engineer is due to visit in 2 days time. I hope he scraps it and gives me a new TV; mine is now 3yrs old!

I also have 64 oled B7V, which has started doing the same. Bought 3 yes ago. How did the engineer solve the problem?

My 55" LG started doing this about 2 months ago. If I switch a light on or off, even in another room or the hallway, the screen goes black for a couple of seconds then straight back to the programme I have on. So it is Not Rebooting, but it can be annoying. I thought I might have an electrical problem but I had it checked out by an electrician, no problem with crossed circuits etc. So problem is with the TV. The electrician thinks it could be an RF interference. We did get a new wireless doorbell recently. I have disconnected that but the problem still persists. Anyone got any ideas?

first rule out the remote. Remove the battery and see if it still does that. then rule out your inputs. Remove all of them (especially if you have some sort of cable box) and only connect one input source. See if that changes anything. Unplug your set and unplug all input sources. Hold down the power button for 30-60 sec. Then reconnect the TV and one input source. See if that changes anything.

If none of this made a difference, you will have to check the boards. For that remove the back of your TV. Post some images of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.

It is possible that this is an IR board error or a failed IC on either the main or the power board.

If you’ve a Firestick connected, change the batteries in it.

I did not believe that it could cycling but it does. Problem solved easily. Had to cancel service call as I’d exhausted all other solutions.

The problem disappeared when I disconnected the Firestick. I wasn’t using it anymore so I sold it and when I removed it the problem stopped. Thank you for the information, I'm sure others will find it useful too.

I had the same problem. I had a dish connected with no aerial connected. I disconnected the satellite dish and connected an aerial approximately one month ago and the fault has not come back.maybe just a coincidence.

Mine is different. I use my remote to power off, and then the unit OLED 55 inch restarts autonomously. Everything is disconnected; remote batteries replaced. So next step is a replacement of the unit?

My LG TV 55GA6400 turns on then turns off after the LG lights up. The screen doesnt light up. It happens so quickly.

@nchambers we need to know if it turns off or if just the backlight turns off. Does your power LED stay on? If yes, then use a flashlight and in a darkened room shine the light at an angle against the screen, If you can make out shapes, silhouettes etc., you know that this is a backlight issue. Failed backlight strips are common for LG TV's
