HISENSE 4k tv showing white line when switching to HDMI 2.0 on bottom

When I switch to HDMI 2.0 for gaming on my XBOX ONE X, i see a large white line on the bottom of my screen as seen here. https://i.gyazo.com/303721cefe0d901a6442... it flashes rapidly but turns off instantly as soon as i switch off the HDMI 2.0 feature ...its only when i put that..this weird flashing line appears on the bottom of my screen - anyone have any idea what that is?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

What is the model number of your TV?

It may be that there is a compatibility issue between the TV and the console when it's in HDMI 2.0 mode.

Is your Xbox firmware the latest version? (Scroll down the page to read the release notes for this version)

Maybe this will make it compatible with your TV in this mode.

Here's a link that hopefully may explain it a bit.

Of course I may be completely off the track ;-)

thanks for the response! it's 55H7608A 55inch 4k UHD - 2018 model strange thing is if i flip back to regular mode and then switch back to HDMI 2.0 mode the problem is gone..but im not sure if the TV is transitioning correctly..meaning when i switch back to 2.0 HDMI mode I lose all the HDR options (Gaming HDR, vivid HDR) turns back into just GAMING, VIVID (this is for picture mode)...really strange..I even tried it without the console and just the tv with netflix and it gave me the same issue.

Hi,

Your testing does seem to indicate that the problem is more with the TV than the Xbox.

The TV may be the 2018 model but that doesn't automatically mean that it has the latest firmware installed.

That may have been issued since your TV was made and sold.

It may be that Hisense has released an update that addresses this problem.

This is only conjecture on my part, but new products not having the latest firmware installed and requiring the latest updates has occurred before with products by other makers and is perhaps worth checking.

Unfortunately it seems with Hisense, that they don't have user downloadable firmware readily available online, but I have found this link that may be of some help. (the link is for Aust, so if you are in a different location, apologies. You may have to search online for Hisense support in your location).

If nothing else as it is a 2018 model it still should be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. So if you can talk to a Hisense support person you may be able to ask them about this problem as they may not know about it or do know about it, but have not come up with a fix yet or have done a fix etc etc.

Just a thought.

Yeah, actually i registered it online and set it up for firmware updates, it recently updated but the problem remained. I actually contacted hisense as well and the person said they passed the video to everyone and none of them experience this issue, (Turning on the HDMI 2.0 and seeing the white line in the corner) so I'll give them a call and see if a tech will come out and take a look at it.

Hi,

Good luck.

If they find anything please post back with an update as it may help someone else in the future.

Cheers

Just so you know it only happens when you switch from a 4k game to a non 4k game

soon all the games will be 4k problem gone

if you do have the white line just restart the Xbox or go to settings video output and change the color depth to 24 and then change it back to 32 or whatever

No that's not the problem....for me it's when I'm playing any hdr 4k game.....if that white line is gone then if I looks closely theres a hole strip of led lights just black.....and playing normal games in 4k is fine but its when a game is in 4k and hdr then the problem comes......and I get rid of it by going back to the home screen of the xbox then going back into the game..

and I often have to do this about 5 times every time I play a herd 4k game

It's a problem with the TV software

Do you think they will fix the issue somehow or it’s just something we have to deal with

by

Dude I honestly hope they fix this issue since it this isn't something we should have to deal with

I know this is super old. But if you disable YCC4:2:2 then the tv will display 4k HDR content without the wite line. I have a Sharp Aquos (made by Highsense) and it has the same issue. Forcing my PS4 to display in YUV420 and disabling YCC4:2:2 in my Xbox One S settings fixed the problem

You also need to make sure the HDMI port is set to Enhanced 2.1
