Whirlpool Dishwasher Blinking Sani Rinse

Currently searching for assistance on troubleshooting an issue with the Whirlpool Quiet Partner dishwasher. Load will start , without issue; however, after 3 to 4 minutes the dishwasher will stop and the Sani Rinse light begins to blink. Will not continue with wash, can't seem to reset the load either.

After much research, I assume the the model is older, but seems like something that can still be fixed, as the problem seems similar to other posts... Only challenge I am finding is that the troubleshooting tips state to press the Start button (at some point ) but my unit does not have a Start button... not sure how to identify the error.

Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated!

Christina

Try reseting it. Here’s how: Press "Heated Dry," "Normal," "Heated Dry," "Normal" within three seconds of the first pressed button. Now close the door, this should reset your dishwasher.

UPDATE

Cycle power to the control to reset the dishwasher

Much like a computer, resetting your Whirlpool dishwasher's control panel can sometimes solve the issues you are experiencing.

To reset the dishwasher control panel:

  • Disconnect from the power source for one minute. After one minute reconnect the dishwasher to its power source.
  • If your dishwasher is plugged into an outlet, simply unplug the unit for one minute and then plug the unit back in.
  • If the dishwasher is hard wired to the power supply, turn the breaker off at the home electrical panel that powers the dishwasher for one minute and then turn the breaker back on.

Most likely bad turbidity sensor. Like a temp sensor but maybe just dirty as well.

They basically check how dirty the water is by means of a ppm sensor “turbidity” and some have the temp sensor in the same clear looking sensor. Just under the wash plate on the right. Little torques bits should take the floor out if its that type.

The model number dosnt come up for my guys. But the blink should blink a certain amount of times. Count them and if my memory is correct, 7 blinks is temp sensor. “Most likely the cause” Could be the flood sensor if it has a large water fill mechanism/tank thing on its left side, “looks like a bunch of tube channels that the water flows through before entering the machine” is falty “normally causes stop and drain.” Or it could have the round float cap inside the units bottom toward front but that style simply brakes the flow of power to the inlet valve and the machine would run normal. The unit should have a tech sheet on the back of the toe kick panel below the door that should explain trouble shooting and diagnostics of the blinking light. As an Appliance Repairman that what I would do, I cant remember every single activation to diagnostics mode entry pattern, it should be a button or two back and forth to reset its code but the number of blinks should be the details to whats wrong.
