Replaced battery & now it's cycling Logo, Sad Face & Low Battery

I replaced the battery, and the 20GB spinny drive with the CF-SD card adapter. Before closing up, I though of checking to make sure it works.

Well, it shows black screen with white Apple logo, then switches to the sad face and flashes the low battery icon - and repeats the process.

I have checked the CF adapter connection and made sure that the pin marked as Pin 1 is aligned correctly.

The reset (Menu + Select) does not seem to work.

At present, the ipod is connected to the Firewire wall charger.

I am wondering what my options are.... :)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

1. With the the SD-adapter removed, the iPod showed missing folder icon - which I take it as the SD-adapter is recognized by the ipod

2. Verified that the SD-adapter housing the micro-SD adapter works by plugging it into the macBookPro. It was seen as a MSDOS-FAT file system. Is that the correct format?

Anyone??

No one?

I can't even get the iPod to go in Disk Mode. The Apple logo in reverse background (black background with white Apple logo) won't even go away when Menu+Select is followed by Select+Play combinations.

First of all, let’s try a new battery from iFixit. Getting a battery elsewhere is a roll of the dice as iFixit only sells quality parts. And by the way sorry for not responding to you sooner!
