Black Vertical Lines on Element LED TV

I have a 60" Element LED TV. Model number is ELEFW605. There are black vertical lines on the right side of the display. Any idea on what could be the cause and any possible fix?

I have this too but they're green thin lines. I plugged the usb cord into the tv last night for the 1st time and when I pulled it out this happened.

I'm not sure what green lines mean, but I still haven't found an answer to my issue. Yours could be a loose ribbon cable.

I have played movies from a USB on a Samsung TV, but I can't figure out how to do it on an Element TV.

that could actual be a lot of things. Bad power board, bad main board, bad T-con board and finally bad panel. You do wnat to start of with posting some pictures of what your screen shows. That might narrow it down. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. Also, try all the different input source just to make sure that it is not isolated to one input.

Update (10/10/2018)

@brewskibrandon that could be a TAB error. That is where the fine ribbon cables actually enter the LCD panel. It is bonded (glued ) onto the contacts to the LCD. This bond may have failed. Push at those cables right above teh line and see if it makes a difference. If so you could try to fix it by using some tape to provide some down pressure on the cable.

Could be a couple of different things. First I would guess that the ribbons that connect to your tv are loose. They are usually held together by just glue. You could maybe try re gluing it, or putting a temporary fix with some tape. First u will need to remove the panel to the back of your tv. Before you do anything, try to put some pressure on it and see if the lines go away. I have also seen lines on tvs from someone dropping them, hitting them etc. any pressure on the screen can sometimes cause this. If thats the case, unfortunately it would be better to buy a new tv verus how much it would cost to fix it. If u do go the route of buying a TV used or new, i highly recommended doing a little research on the brand and model of it. I personally have had bad luck with Element. But have had good luck with samsung, sony, and Vizio. Good luck to you.

I have 2016 32 inch sony tv in new delhi with same and more problems. Dirt spots on inner side of led then year later screen went white or tv switches off with power light going red. It is the costliest brand here. Never buy sony product again.

Hello Brandon,

This is an example of a bad connection between the screen and one of the flexible ribbon cables attached to it. If you had the back of the tv off and press on the ribbon cables that do attach to the screen you would find that the line will go away (Some tv’s will actually have a lot more lines showing up but the cause is the same. Now to fix this requires some foam to continually press on the bad spot somehow. Unfortunately the only real fix is to replace the screen which is more expensive than just buying a whole new set.
