Screen Issue after Battery Swap
I bought a iFixit kit for replacing the battery. I went through the step by step guide to remove the battery and replace it with the new one. Everything seemed to have went well, until I started up the computer.
The screen is all grey with a couple of purple and green lines. The whole screen is jammed in the leftside of the monitor and repeats in pieces over to the right. The screen still works, I can still navigate on it if I know where to click (text not legible).
When hookeup up to an external monitor, there are no issues whatsoever. Another thing that I noticed, is that the MacBook has trouble booting. I would have to perform a NVRAM (PRAM) reset and/or a SMC reset and then the computer would boot, but otherwise after passing the login screen (hitting enter having entered my password), the loading bar completes and the screen shuts off, computer freezes, but the computer remains on, fans still spinning.
I'm pretty bummed out because I wanted to prolong the useful life of my device by changing the battery, but now the screen is unusuable. I have experience with building PCs, so I didn't do anything reckless during the repair. Anyone have any ideas what this could be.
I did try disconnecting the display cable from the logic board and reinserting it. Didn't solve the issue. Tilting the screen has no effect on the what is displayed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is an image of what my screen looks like right now.
Is this a good question?

@bistvan Do you still have your old battery in working condition? What happens when you put your old battery back in?

Try to insert your old battery and check if same try to run smc and pram in your laptop if that does'nt make any change you may have damaged either your screen or the circuit board with which the display is connected

Hi! Thanks for the support. I tried using the old battery (no longer have it though). Unfortunately didn’t work. I did try smc and pram without success. :(
