Green vertical lines appear on my tv after it being on for maybe around 5-10 minutes.

I have a straight green line in the middle of my tv. How do I get rid of that?

by

I have vertical green lines on my brand new 65in 4k UHD Spectre TV. I'm using a brand new Xbox One S with a HDMI cable that came with it. I have tried different ports and a different HDMI cable it does the same thing. When I only have the power connected to the TV the background is blue so I can't tell if that green line is still there or not.

My tv only has a line when on netflix on one of the shows. all other shows are fine as well as regular tv. What should i do??

by

@Nicol Bialous since this is only on that one particular show it will not be an issue with your TV. Could be your cable box/receiver etc. but not your TV. Talk to your service provider and see what they can tell you.

Unplug all cables except the power cable, turn it on and see if you still have the green line.

If without any image input, the line is there, you have a faulty LEDTV.

If it goes away, it's the cable/connector.

Report back with your findings.

Done that and the lines are still there

Then it's on the monitor hardware for sure.

I can quickly think of 3 things.

- The flat cable from the circuitry to the monitor itself,

- Electronic controller

- LED Display itself

Depending on your warranty status, it's going to be hard repairing it. If it's the flatcable or the controller, those can be switched, but to be honest, hardly worth the trouble unless the warranty is void and you have time to spend.

Good luck!

What’s better, or more affordable, fix the TV display, or buy a new one ?!

by

It depends on where the issue is. If the LED display is bad then you're better off getting a new one because those panels are almost impossible to find outside of another TV. You might be able to find a salvage model from Samsung which might have what you need to fix it but you would be playing the lottery there.

The electronic controller is something you may be able to find online for purchase, but it probably won't be cheap.

If it's the cable that's a cheap fix but that's rarely the issue. If you can find a cable then you could try that first but I doubt any of the other cases are worth the cost of fixing.

same thing happens on my 55H6400 on OTA broadcasts only.

If I change channel on the builtin tuner the issue remains.

As soon as I switch to another input (one of the HDMIs) and back, the issue disappears.

It has happened perhaps only twice in the past.

Change the cable ribbon found at the back of Tv. It will solve the problem. buy from EBAY used to get cheap price. Just make sure it is compatible to your TV model and parts No. Example Samsung HDTV 60” part no. M1432

It’s not your TV, it’s the FETV broadcast. I have this problem intermittently and only with Black&White programs. I thought it was my TV too but I have a brand new Sony 65” X950G and still have the problem. Plus if it was your TV all channels would have the same problem. FETV does not offer digital service yet so standard broadcast tends to have problems on modern TVs

I have an Insignia brand and we have a line that will run through from time to time. I know it's not the TV bc I have streamed shows and my TV screen is gorgeous ! I reset cable box (direct tv) and helped a bit

Thank you for saving me cost of new TV monitor. Vizio 55” of six years kept showing green start-up screen instead of gray and then green plasma on images and splotches on skin. Tapping on back helped for a few hours or so. I took your simplest solution to unplug the power cord briefly because don’t know how to replace panels inside and Occam. It worked! The images look like 4.0K, but only 1.4K.

We had another problem with audio drop outs. Replaced HDMI cable forthat.

I also had a thin green line to the left of the screen vertically on my Samsung. I took a damp cloth and carefully rubbed up and down and it went away. I don’t know for how long but I’m happy now.

Had this problem last winter.. I threw out tv. This year it happened to another tv when I had heater on. I unplugged overnight and it worked again. The problem being lack of power to the tv. Don't throw out that tv.
