Not an iPhone 3G screen on my iPhone?

I took my iPhone 3G to a local phone repair shop. I got the phone back and I opened the screen and noticed I don't have a #3 connector ribbon on the screen and the #1 and #2 connector ribbons don't even fit my motherboard/logic board. Help?! What screen is this that has only a #1 and #2?? I know my old screen had all 3 connectors and fit because I've fixed and opened my phone before.. :(

if there is no ribbon 3 then you will have no function from proximity or earpiece? i would return it to the shop and demand they fix the problem!

They better fix this for free! If there is no #3 ribbon, your speaker, proximity sensor, and light sensor will not work! I would assume it is tucked in between the Digitizer cable and glass. This happens a lot when I replace my screens, BUT I fix it before I hand it to my customer. Try to see if it is tucked in there or just take it back to where it was repaired. As far as the connectors not fitting, are you positive? If there looks like a black bar in the center of the LCD cable, it is for a 3gs and not a 3g. If they gave you the wrong display and digitizer, they are crazy. I would recommend taking it back to who repaired it and demand they fix it for free.

Check if the #3 ribbon is under one of the other connectors. If not then you must have been swapped for a different screen. If you flip over the connector 1 or 2, if it is square more than round, you have a 3GS screen. Both the 3G and the 3GS should have 3 ribbons on the screen assembly.
