I can not hear very good calls though the earspeaker

Hi,

I think I have a problem with my earspeaker. Then i call somebody the sound is not clear and either very high. You can hear like reverberation or interference, even the notifications sounds from whatsapp are weird...

I already replaced the ear speaker for a new one and nothing changed. I few months ago i replaced the lightning connector Assembly cause it had sttoped to get charge. After replacing the flex it worked again.

The quality sound is poor although i can hear enough to attend the call.

What could the problem be?

Thanks¡

Do you think I can try changing the FCAM/Sensor flex? The bad quality is from both sides, listening and when i talk to them...

Thanks

It is possible that the FCAM/Sensor flex was slightly damaged when you did the Lightning port repair. Take a close look at the flex to see if there are any tiny tears on it. The FCAM flex carries the signals used by the ear speaker.

The other possibility is a logic board issue as the iPhone 7 is quite to prone to problems with the Audio IC.

Here is the quality of both speakers, something is wrong with them. I hear the calls with the same quality and the callers too.

I didn't have time to do the FCAM/Sensor flex replacement yet. Do you think a problem in this sensor could be causing this noise? I am very annoyed because i can not handle calls... even on handsfree a have the same issue.

I would greatly appreciate your comments¡

The sensor flex connects the ear speaker electrically so that is the first thing you have to try.

The iPhone 7 series of devices have proven to be very unreliable, suffering from flex-based issues similar to the iPhone 6 Plus (Touch Disease). On the iPhone 7, the fault line runs along the top of the SIM card reader and affects the Baseband CPU and Audio IC. Along this fault line, any short copper traces running perpendicular to the fault line while connecting to micro-BGA pads, is subject to failing.

On the Audio IC, this particularly affects the C12 pad/trace although there are 4 pads/traces along the fault line. Of those four, the C12 pad (I2S_AP_TO_CODEC_MCLK) is the most critical as it is a communication protocol line between the CPU and the Audio IC.

So if a replacement ear speaker . FACM Flex doesn't solve your problem then the Audio IC may be the issue.
