Dying battery replaced, now iPod won't turn on. What happened?
I have an 80gb ipod classic, and the battery wouldn't hold a charge for very long (like a couple of hours without using it at all). I got a new battery and followed the install manual to the letter (using the appropriate tools from ifixit). New battery, and after several hours of charging, no response from the ipod. Ok, pull the new battery and put the old one back in, still no response after charging over night.
When I plug the ipod in to my computer, I get an error that the "iPod software server could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes"
However, it's the latest version of itunes, and my ipod responded fine before (and I know I have an internet connection that iTunes can see due to other i-devices having no problem).
What happened?
Is this a good question?
