iPod Touch 3G Battery not charging

Hi, I have an iPod Touch 3g and it is not working. I already have a post about this ([URL| iPod Touch 3g detected as iPhone )] I thought that maybe I should start from the bacics. The original battery was dead, only .3 V. I purchased a new one and installed it. That did not fix my iPod. It still does not turn on. I took it apart one more time and the second battery showed only 2.7 V from the original 3.7V Removed it and checked voltage on the logic board with the USB cable plugged in. 0 V. This is probably why the battery does not charge. I have been poking around on the logic board and it seems that the 5 volts from the USB cable are getting on the board but I am not sure how the output is supposed to be routed to the battery terminal pads on the logic board.Has anybody else experienced this problem? I have attached a picture of the logic board. Also, because this iPod was purchased used and it gets detected as an iPhone, is there a way to establish if the logic board is for an iPhone instead of an iPod touch 3g or are they the same? Thanks
