My HtC Desire 816 just stopped charging. I havent had any problems before, and it was holding a charge just fine until yesterday. Now it wont turn on or charge. I did not injure it in any way. What can I do?

Have you tried a different charger, or a different charger cord?
Try connecting it to a computer and see if it starts to charge.
If it still doesn't charge, use a strong light and a magnifying glass to inspect the phone's charge port.
Ensure that all the pins are there and that they are straight and parallel with each other. Also check that there is no lint etc. trapped in the port enclosure.
If there is, DO NOT use a pin or probe to try and clear it. You may damage the pins or the internal components. Use a vacuum cleaner to try and suck it out. If it still won't budge, gently use a wooden toothpick to clear the obstruction.
If the port enclosure seems clear then the phone will have to be opened and further inspected as to the cause of the problem.
