Why can't I find the second ram location?

I am trying to upgrade my ram from 8gb to 16gb and on a compatibility check is states my motherboard has slots:2 (2 banks of 1) but yet I can not see the second slot. Any help? laptop is an Asus Q552U

Sometimes a laptop will have two slots together - one on top of the other. Does your laptop have that?

I just got off the phone with asus tech support and I guess my laptop only has one ram slot, it does not have one on top of the other. guess I will just have to stick with an 8gb ram chip.

I would call Crucial tech support and ask them, with the idea that you plan on buying the memory if they can help you find the 2nd slot.

crucial is what I went off of and the lady told me they saw no records of there being two slots
