Replaced battery but the Mac is shutting down at around 68-70%

Hi, I replaced the battery in my Macbook Pro (i7 not i5) last Friday and have had problems since. Followed all the instructions about charging up then running battery down. It is now switching off at around 68% capacity when running on battery and is running down from 100% in only a few mins. Below are two coconut readings - 1 at 09:32 running on battery

6 mins after that it switched off. I rebooted then took another coconut reading here

Not sure what to do now. Fan seems to be on so don't think overheating is the issue.

Appreciate any advice.

How much did you pay for the battery? Cheap batteries tend to perform like this. If it wasn't cheap then I would try reseting the SMC. Also maybe try unplugging and plugging back in the battery.

Coconut battery readings and symptoms described point to a faulty replacement battery. In no circumstance a new battery should show such readings. Contact seller enclosing screenshots and ask for a replacement.

Absolutely agree! This appears to be a real cheapy knock off sold on corners from vendors in long trench coats.
