What happens if my iPhone and my sim card had a rough Friday?

My username is literally @iamascrewup298 so maybe my problems can be fixed? Ok, so I was at a pool party and my phone had been thrown into the pool (accidentally) by me. I didn't know it was in there until my friend found it. We tried drying it off with a towel and i left it in my pool bag afterwards. Maybe an hour later I put it in rice, and then when i took out my phone for one second from the rice, I *sigh* dropped my phone on hardwood floor, and after that my phone wouldn't even turn on. Later that night, my friend advised me to take out the sim card. 24 hours passed where my phone has been sitting in rice during that time and my sim card was in a safe place. I thought I'd try turning on my phone again and try putting on the sim card. Well, I dropped the sim card in my bedroom. Can't find it. My phone still won't turn on... If i take my phone to Apple, will they be able to repair it and recover the data without the sim card? I have unlimited from T-mobile, will my unlimited data be gone? If I buy a new sim card will all data be lost? Plz help.

If your phone has permanent water damage, the only way to get the data off your phone is by a professional who does data recovery for water damaged phones. You would need to do a google search for these services. They arent cheap and youll have to send your phone off for the repair. Apple will only replace the device. If you dont have insurance through your carrier or Apple care then you wont get any type of warranty.

Your unlimited data is paid for through TMobile, so all you would do in that case is get another sim card.

Also, putting your phone in rice doesnt do anything. I would bet money if you were to open the phone there would be water, rust and corrosion inside. In the future (hopefully you wont need it) I would find someone who does water damage repair and let them clean the motherboard and dry out your phone properly.

If you decide to send your phone off for data recovery, ask them to access the water damage. They may be able to fix that as well.
