Does this mean my SMC is functioning?

Hi guys !,

MPB been having issue whereas it does not recognize the battery after an accidental power surge .

magsafe is always green and turns on automatically .

I have been trying to find the burnt item so far and my biggest concern is the SMC

attached is the pic of my Istat sensor menu .

if I'm getting all the reading does it mean that the SMC is safe and functioning ?

the only problem Is that my keyboard shortcut for screen brightness is not working and sometimes it works ( it always work if I shut down and do the CTRL+CMD+P+R reset .

let me know . thanks in advance !

The SMC is a critical component of a Mac, if it wasn't working your machine would not even turn on :)

hi arabman, thank you for the reply .

I'm taking about its functions . I assume R5070 hold the responsibility to pass the signal .

so if this is not working properly maybe I can have a go at R5070 , then battery might show up ?

P.S . I I feel like fans are not picking the pace when laptop gets heated .

R5070 is a pullup resistor, it doesn't have anything to do with charging circuit.

On the fan issue try TG Pro (the small version is free). https://www.tunabellysoftware.com/tgpro/
