Battery not charging nor recognized

My battery stopped taking a charge and the LED on the MagSafe charger wouldn't indicate at all. I replaced the battery and the machine still runs with the power from the new battery. I have also replaced the MagSafe DC in board with no success. what is the next logical thing to do?

Are you using a third party mag-safe adapter?

Are you using a third party battery, if so what was the source and cost?

Do you have any other 3rd party parts or upgrades installed?

Did this start after an Apple system update?
