I pressed simultaneously the volume down key, home button and power button after switching off my phone. Then it started downloading something and was saying not to off the phone. I got scared and pressed the power button for 5 second and it restarted again. well I was wondering what was that actually......!!!

That was the phone booting into ODIN download mode which is used for flashing Samsung Firmware onto the phone. This occurs when you hold power + volume down + home for 10 seconds.
Nothing happens to the phone unless you start flashing files while its on that screen, otherwise you can press and hold the same buttons to get out of that mode then hold power button only to boot up the phone.
