Got a replacement lcd an dig it came with a home button.

Why does it say home button not work still? Do i have to have the original one because i dont see how to get it out?

You need the original home button that is paired with your motherboard for Touch ID to work.

Because it's a fingerprint sensor and for security purposes, only your original Home Button will allow TouchID to work. All other Home Buttons will have TouchID disabled (button will work otherwise). To remove the button, follow this guide: iPad 5 LTE Front Panel Assembly Replacement

What if the wire was damaged an why are they sold with them if you cant use them

If you damage the home button cable, you'll have to go through Apple's out of warranty repair to restore Touch ID functionality.
