Whats wrong with my screen?

The screen on my MBP with retina recently stopped working and I was wondering if anyone might know what is wrong with my display.

It was working one evening and when I tried to turn it on the next day, the screen died. The loading bar under the apple icon freezes at the same spot every time it boots and laptop gets hot while trying to load.

Unfortunately that looks like a graphic card failure, not a screen problem. Behavior too seems to confirm it..boot hangs when system checks for graphic card and gets wrong data.

Are you able to boot up in safe mode? Restart your system holding the ‘‘‘S’’’ key if the screen looks OK then you do indeed have a bad dedicated GPU. If it still looks bad then you have a deeper issue within the logic board.

In either case you’ll need to replace the logic board or find someone with the needed skills and tools to replace the GPU or locate whats wrong and replace the bad part/s

There´s an easy trying, its a long shoot but its worth trying, it really looks like your video card went bad, but you can try to CLEAN THE RAM PIECE or PIECES manually, take off the back cover and pull out the RAM memories and clean it with an eraser, then take of any remains of the eraser and put the RAM back in your motherboard, if you have more than one RAM memories try one at a time. Hope that´s the problem solution, its quite more easy to change a RAM than fix the GPU

@annielservitec - This model uses soldered in RAM so your idea won't work here.
