The LCD screen has no backlight and no image

A few days ago, I spilled some water right onto the front panel of my switch. I let it dry for a few days and tried to turn it on, and assumed the worst when I didn't see anything on the screen. However, I found out that the console functions perfectly while docked, which leads me to believe the water only damaged the LCD screen. I just want to make sure I'm correct in assuming this before I pull the trigger and buy a replacement LCD. Could there be something else that's causing the issue I'm having?

It's most likely the LCD ribbon cable right where it goes into the connector. Many times it will get corroded right there. It's entirely possible that multiple other things are wrong as well but you won't know until you take it apart. If I were you I'd pop off the back panel and metal plate and just take a look at the motherboard to see what seems to be affected the most. In fact if it was me I would remove the motherboard and clean it, then put it back in and clean any connectors and ribbon cables that need it and see if it will work...sometimes that's all it takes.

Did this end up helping? I just got a deal on a switch on ebay and the seller said the screen works normally sometimes, but other times you can see the image bit theres no backlight. I dont know if if replacing the screen would fix it or if i should try replacing the backlight connector first.
