Half of the left side of the screen is completely black vertically.

Half of the screen is blacked out vertically. Could this be a logic board issue?

It could be a screen issue (backlight) or a backlight driver (logic board) issue. Did this happen out of the blue or was it following a repair? Board issues can occur when a screen is disconnected (or re-connected) while the battery is still plugged in. The way the backlight driver works is there are two return paths, one for the left side and one for the right side. A screen with a dark side is usually logic board related. Still, trying a replacement screen is the first step, whether you do that yourself or have a micro-soldering repair shop do it prior to removing the logic board and shields.
