Dropped iPhone was working perfectly fine won’t charge any more

So I dropped my iPhone ages ago it cracked really badly and then I dropped it in mud, still worked fine. Now after weeks of not using it, it won’t charge. I Know it sounds like I take bad care of it but in fairness I’ve had it for years and that’s the only two times where it has had damage. Id there any tips or tricks to get it turned back on ?

If you dropped it in mud, there may be some dirt inside the charge port. Shine a bright light and take a look to see if it is dirty. You can use some IPA on a fine cotton swab or lint free wipe to clean it out.

I would also suggest you open up the device and look for the liquid damage indicators on the logic board (see step 16, next to the spudger tip) and near the SIM Card Slot

. It's possible that the wtare in the mud seeped inside.

Ultimately, there could be an issue with the charge port, the battery or the logic board.
