IP 5s wont stop vibrating after waterdamage

Hi,

I got this small project going of an Iphone 5s that got dropped in water.

First i took out the logic board. cleaned it as best i could. Only didnt take of the shields ( idk. how).

After that I tried to put it on. At first sight all looks wel, only the vibrator keeps going non-stop, i tried switching it with another one that works. Still the same problem. Do u think its damage on the logic board under the shields ? and is it possible to take out the vibrator ? Or wil this make the phone work incorrect ?

If it's a small project and you don't need the phone urgently I would consider doing things properly, i.e. removing shields and cleaning the logic board thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol >90%. Without a good clean chances are your phone will be short lived, maybe weeks or months but if any liquid got under the shields corrosion has already started and will continue eating up components and power rails. The vibrator can be removed, but fact it's always powered means you got a short somewhere. I'd check the switch and try replace the flat cable connecting it to the logic board in case the cleaning doesn't solve the issue.

If I remove the shields, do i put them back on after ?

Kind regards

Sure that would be best..since the phone is yours if you don't feel safe with resoldering them in place you might consider simply glueing them back.
