Extra grey clips

I succesfully replaced my LCD, but now that everything is done I have two small grey clips and I am not sure where they came from. On Notes: Step 11 of the repair guide someone referenced two grey clips to the right of the hard drive. I assume that this is where they are from. The top right corner of the keyboard is jutting out as well, is this the reason? Anyone have any info/pictures on where these clips belong and if they would be the reason the top right corner over the optical drive is not flush with the case?

Those clips go to the front bezel of the display and keeps it firmly attached the the metal frame. Be sure to check the bezel and put them back. They keep the bezel in place. Remove the bezel and u should see them attached to the bezel or the metal frame behind the bezel. Or, are they rectangular??? If they are then they go on the sides of the bottom case by either the optical drive or on the other side. The bezel ones are about a quarter of an inch and the other ones are about a half an inch.

They are rectangular, from what I can tell the bezel seems intact as far as the clips go. So you think they go by the optical drive?

if They are the larger ones then they belong to the bottom case. They secure the topcase. yes, i did this same repair and I know where they go, its either by the optical drive or on the opposite side. Let me know how u make out.

Here's a link to an iFixit guide:

MacBook Core 2 Duo Optical Drive Replacement

If you zoom in on the top picture on this page, right along the right edge of the optical drive, you will see several of the grey clips. These slide into place, and as you've discovered, they often slide out of place and fall out. Make sure they are seated all the way back in their slots, and then when you put the topcase on, it should connect cleanly and rest flush against the bottom case.

There are some smaller grey clips that go along the front edge by the hard drive, however these are pretty tightly secured, and I've never witnessed them falling out like the others.
