Replaced headphone jack assembly but mute and volume dont work?

I replaced the headphone jack assembly in my 3gs because the power button stopped working after installing it and putting the board back in i plugged in just the lcd to see if the power button worked and it did but then i realized the mute and volume buttons dont is this because the other components arent plugged in to the board yet or did i install it wrong?

you haven't connected them to the buttons on the rear case and they don't work? or they are connected to the buttons and don't work? they should work if you press on the plastic toggle on vibrate or the little discs on the volume

Ok now after tinkering with it the mute button works now but the volume button still doesnt ????

Sounds like you have connection problems.

Rub all copper connectors with Methylated Spirit on a NON lint cloth to clear obstructions.

Check if its well connected at first.. but if it is and yet it doesnt works you might change the part again.. :/

make sure you properly connected conector 5 that is what drives the mute and volume buttons then make sure your past the lock screen and they sould work. One last thig is in "settings" select sounds and make sure the "change with buttons" is turned on
