Flash wont turn off

Even when my flash is closed the flash still fires, the only way I can take a photo without flash is on the no flash setting. also my camera is a nikon d5500 but it wasnt an option.

exactly the same thing has happened to me with exactly the same camera. It happened after I dropped it :/
