Temporary repair v-sync cable?

So I opened up my late 2009 27" Imac to install a new hard drive got everything in good but when I went to plug the v-sync cable back in the metal leads on it would scrunch up. Is there anything I can use to temporarily get the leads to stick to the ribbon so I can get it plugged back in?

It looks like you need Apple Part # 922-9161 if you have the 3.33 GHz machine. You can do a web search for that number or just go here and get it for $19.00: http://www.applecomponents.com/items/000...

I agree with oldturkey03 and Diether Busch: I would like to know exactly how you did this. Pictures would be especially helpful.
