TV red standby light flashing, screen still working

Greetings.

Information:

Model: Samsung UA46F7500 Smart TV.

Age: 4 years old.

The problem began 3 months ago with flickering of the horizontal/center back-light. This occurred occasionally at first and occurred more often until what looked like failure, where the monitor shutdown by itself and did not turn back on.

Attempts to turn the TV back on resulted in the standby light switching on-then-off 5 times.

By combing the web I found a solution which entailed holding the power button of the TV in for 10-15 seconds which seems to reset the TV.

After completing this exercise, the TV screen came back on. (happy days)

Not only did it come back on but my flickering/dimming backlight problem seems to have been fixed.

One issue remains, each and every time I turn the TV back on, the standby light turns on then off 5 times.

Can you please advise me what you would do to resolve the stand by light problem ?

Answer this question I have this problem too

'''++Llewellyn K++'''  Samsung is not really good in using the power LED as a troubleshooting indicator. Since your TV is working properly, I’d leave well enough alone. Usually with the 5 blinks there may be issues with the T-con board but since you had backlight issues prior, your error may be located with the power board.
