S6 ACTIVE: Water Damaged! TekDry and worked, now boot loop :(
This is for my Samsung Galaxy S6 ACTIVE! That wasn't an option to select my device. I dropped my supposedly waterproof phone in water for about 3-5 seconds while it was on. It was totally submerged. I let it sit for a couple of hours and didn't plug it in or anything and brought it to a TekDry. Yay! It worked. I kept it on all night and had zero issues the next morning and decided I would turn it off to save the battery for a concert that night. It wouldn't turn back on, but if you plugged it in, showed the Green Battery icon charging/fully charged and if you turn it on while it is plugged in, it just goes through a boot loop, showing the Samsung logo with Samsung Galaxy S6 Active to the AT&T Earth.
I have insurance and am getting a new phone but REALLY wanted to transfer my stuff over from this phone to the other since I'm terrible at backing things up. Any suggestions or help? I brought it to a repair place and they tried to make the phone download an update (i dont frigan know why) which failed. They did the hold the home screen and volume button thing.... They refused to take the screen off for me or tear it down since they said they'd completely ruin the screen and phone. I do not have a heat gun and fear I would definitely break the screen myself, which I need to be in tact for when I return it for the insurance replacement.
Is this a good question?
